Checked my credit card statement 25/08/2008, I was charged by BBG Communications London for $37.13 dated 20/08/2008.
Who is BBG Communications London and Why are they charging me in the first place.

another one bites the dust. Over $60USD for less than a 2 min call! Called bank immediately to lock my card and working now to reverse the charges. This company doesn't even have a reputable company website with contact info.
I also wrote a letter to the airport suggesting they set up a contract with a more reputable phone company that is not in the business to rip off unsuspecting travelers.

I was charged $32.03 twice for one call!!! I will dispute it once the charges are no longer pending. I made two attempts at a call, and only got through once, so they better not charge me twice seeing at I work at an international law office in Europe! They won't have fun with me.

Same story here peeps! One 90 sec. call from my hotel in Venice to home in N.S.W has just cost me $35. Unauthorised, no explanation, no warning! I've got a mind to charge the hotel with negligence on this matter!

Same applied to me in Changi on the 31st Aug. Made 2 calls to Thailand @ no more than 90 secs. each.....cost $48.97 each !!. The calls I made were operator connected by a guy with an American type accent, no mention of ridiculous prices. I am about to take it up with my bank to try and get payment stopped. Good luck to all the rest of you....hope you can get a favourable outcome....

Add me to the list of complainants ripped off via Changi airport. I called my wife in Western Australia en route from Thailand to Perth via Singapore and was hit for A$37+ for a very brief call. Not satisfied with that, a month later they've hit me for the same amount and I've not been out of W.A.!

I'm hearing all of you. I just got back from Denpasar, Indonesia, where I made a phone call to Melbourne, Australia. The first two call attempts did not go through, and were made by an operator. On the third attempt, which I did manually, I got through and spoke for less than 10 minutes. I've just checked my credit card statement - $48 for EACH of the calls that were not connected, and $98 for the 10-minute call. Aaaaaaaargh!!! I'm definitely taking on the fight.

These guys are trying to extort me as well. I used their service in Turks & Caicos recently. I now find they are trying to charge me $303.61 for 7 calls. I don't remember making 7 calls and none of my calls were very long. The hotel phone charges was only $3.50 per minute, cheap in comparsion. Waiting to see what I can do to sort this out.

I was billed about $300 for 4 calls, but eventually got the money back. Took me quite some efforts and (a few) sleepless nights, but at the end the call's were for free.
I'd like to remind those that made calls from european payphones that those transactions were under European law, which is much more restrictive than US law in this respect.
The money has thus been deducted against the will and knowledge of the consumer (he was not informed about rates as required by law, and could not reasonably know rates were over 10 times the usual rates), while there is in fact no legal contractual engagement with BBG communications. Therefore, they have the obligation to refund the money.

I have exactly the same experience. I also called my family in China on 31 AUG from Changi Airport, Singapore. I did not buy the phone card thinking that that might be expensive as I might not have used up all the credits in the phone card. So preferred to use my Gold Visa Card. Just checked the account and to my surprise the total bill charged to my account is about US$80. Talk time would have been hardly 2-3 minutes. bullshit!! ***!!!
